VINTAGE 2025
After another winter with an abundance of rain (more than the long term average), our vineyards had a slightly later budburst in spring 2024. Seasonal climate and wine production goes hand in hand as everybody knows. During the spring and early summer we had intermittent light rainfall until the end of October 2024. For the rest of summer, conditions were optimal for berry and canopy development. Our grapes went through veraison quickly and ripening was on track for a very good vintage. Slow and steady with very good climatic conditions.
Despite some rainy days during flowering and berry set, no negative impact was noticed on berry set and bunch formation. The summer went on without any significant rain until the end of harvest. We were once again fortunate to have supplementary irrigation available to support our grapes to ripen slowly & perfectly. Bunch and berry selection is non-negotiable for us to ensure the delicate, fresh and natural qualities in our wines.
2025 vintage on Normandie Est. 1693, was a magnificent one from a grape and wine quality perspective. Perfect conditions during harvest gave us ample opportunity to harvest each lot at a unique ripeness level to bring all the wanted elements into the winery to create yet another very special rosé. Our yield was 39 hectolitres per hectare on Merlot for rosé.
karen. 2025 is plush & sexy, complex and full body, showing minerality and great balance.
